HOST FAMILY

  • One of our core initiatives is our residential program, which plays a vital role in providing a nurturing environment for our young athletes who are not local to Middle Tennessee.

  • Our program is designed to create a fantastic home-life experience for these driven and self-motivated players, who have consistently demonstrated strong character both on and off the ice. By opening their homes to our athletes, host families play a significant role in providing stability and support during their journey.

  • We believe this experience not only benefits our young athletes but also creates lasting bonds between families, fostering cross-cultural understanding and lifelong friendships.

TOBY - From Alaska

When we decided to become a billet family, we got much more than just a kid who lives with us.

While we love cheering Toby on as he plays for the Spartans, we also love having him with our family and part of our community. He is an exemplary role model for our own young children, our neighbors, and our son’s hockey team, where he can be found helping every chance he gets.

We’ve loved having him here and getting to know him and his family. Toby is our family, and he will always have a home with us.

HOST FAMILY REQUIREMENTS

Provide a safe and warm home environment including a bedroom to themselves and access to a bathroom.

  • Provide an adequate level of adult supervision to ensure the player is following all team policies and rules.

  • Make your player feel comfortable and welcomed, not only in your home but in the community as well. Treat them as you would want your own children to be treated.

  • Provide adequate meals, access to internet, television, laundry, and amenities that most young athletes would have access to.

  • We want our players to feel like family, as many of these relationships carry on past the hockey season!

  • A monthly stipend will be paid to the families of billeted players for basic groceries and toiletries and to offset the family’s utility expenses. The amount currently paid is $500/player to the billeting family.

  • Follow USPHL Regulations and Expectations..
